Will these firemouths breed?

I have 5 firemouth cichlids in my 55 gal tank 4 male and only 1 female of coarse this is not by my choice. I live in a very small town so I have to order my fish online and the company I ordered from or any other company I found online do not sex firemouths prob cause very hard to tell them apart when real young. So i end up getting 4 males and just 1 female and i notice the males chase her around she even has some fin damage. Is there any chance they will breed?

-Always use tank water in the egg container, so the water parameters and temperature are identical when transitioning.

-Get the proper tools to help you maintain the eggs, a plastic pair of tweezers are great, and various size medicine droppers to move the eggs around.

-Keep the egg container clean. There is a lot of debris that is picked up when transferring eggs, so keep it clean and take a few minutes to get anything out that doesn't resemble an egg.

-Heat is good, but too much heat ...

As I looked more closely, I thought the JDs had just move enough of the gravel to stir up some debris (one of the 4 tanks I didn't get to Sunday). As I continued to watch, I noticed the debris was moving on its own! There are at least 100 JD fry in there!

Caught me completely off guard since I check the tank daily and have never seen any eggs. I think they must have laid ...

Ok, these guys are part of my mixed 'biochem' tank community from the classroom. I have two glopinks, three glogreens, two globlues, two white longfin and one normal. They are all very big and fat, so I suspect they've been secretly feeding everyone else in the tank community.

Now that they're home for the summer in the temporary ten gallon in the living room, I've been debating on controlling one of their spawns in a spare five gallon that I can set up.

Anyone with experience, knowledge, or even curiosity are welcome to post their questions and observations within this thread.
What breeds are you currently breeding?
What difficulties have you came across throughout the breeding process with these fish?

For example:

My vote is for egg layers, and the specific fish that is MY favorite to breed would be Plecos because they lay their huge eggs on the upper side of the cave and they guard their eggs in an awesome fashion.

I was wondering if anyone here has bred Lamp Trets (5 Bar) of Lamp Nkembae (Kendalli). If so, please share details. Also, is a 40 gallon breeder tank large enough to breed either of those? I appreciate the info, thanks. If not those specifically, info on a similar type fish would be beneficial. I have had mixed Tang tanks forever, and am finally getting the breeder's bug.

As I lifted one of the caves, out goes a lot of babies

I am stoked, I thought they are just there fattening their asses not doing anything.

I got Babies all around the tank.

Pretty cool sight!

Next mission get my and Davids L260 colony to breed!

My first batch of ABN fry if everything goes as planned!! I'll move him and the babies in a few days once I have wigglers. Or should I move them now? I was just sitting there watching my yellow labs when I saw flashes of red going in circles from the corner of my eye, I look behind the biggest holey rock and there they are...the sp44 male in his bright spawning colors and the female scooping her eggs up and following the male as he deposits his end of the bargain.
