Recently, I was given a 55 gallon tank that came with fish. There were different breeds: 3 Red Parrots, 3 Cory Catfish, 3 of one breed I'm unsure of, and another set of 3 I am also unsure of. =) It also came with 2 LARGE Albino frogs as well as 1 African frog and 2 dragon fish. So as you can imagine when I found some eggs stuck to the glass tank, I started researching online to figure out which fish had laid the eggs and what I was to do to ensure the survival of these fry even before they ...

I just got 2 Synodontis ocellifer, well that's what we think they are. They are missing pretty much all of their fins but still have a bunch of spunk. They were headed to the freezer in the fish store I help out at, so I asked if I could have them and try to get them well. I now have them in a little 5g tank and treating them with melafix before they go into a real tank. I will get some pics up shortly!

Ok so I've had these two together for about three months now and nothing. They are in a bare bottom tank with only the bottom suacer of a terracotta pot inverted with a opening so they can get in. At first the female stayed in it now the males stays in it Only one goes in at a time. Should I have gravel on the bottom of the tank? They get a small amount of fresh water every day.

I went home for 3 days and came back today to find my Red Jewels had laid eggs again which is not surprising. What was surprising was that my male Albino Bristlenose Pleco was guarding the breeding log that I put in there for them. I looked inside and I found eggs! I didn't know whether they were old enough to breed yet but I guess that question is answered! I don't know how old the eggs are, but they are still eggs.

What is the gestation period for Pleco eggs?

I just moved some of my corys from grow out tanks and noticed that a few were lacking an eye, no eye socket nothing just smooth scales! I have one that has no eyes at all.
What would cause this?
Tank mates are molly fry
tank is a 17g plastic bin with a few sponge filters
I have only moved them once by dumping the hatching tank into the bin

Getting the odd extra short cory is familiar to me but this is not!

They like faster water, and are good for a mature tank as they like to use their body to stick to the side of the tank and eat some of the algae (they also eat fish flakes like the Tetra brand fish foods).

I have 2 different loaches in my 55 gallon. I put both of the in there on saturday. All was fine all weekend and through this morning. But now the clown loach is missing, i have removed the fake tree and other deco items looking for him, but with no luck. These are my first loaches and was wondering if i may be overlooking something. Do loaches tend to hide.

I know when I first got my BN he like to hide in the filter, is it possible that the clown is hiding from me?

Finally now that the fry are all grown up, it is time for the Wild Parents to move to their new Condo units

I've been meaning to do this for the longest time now. For some of you that has been to my Fish room, you know that these fishes are all in a 55 gallon tank in the garage.

Now they are moving into another 55g but in a more secure location.

Here are some pics I snapped during the move today.

So I have had a hard Time keeping Cory cats. No matter what I did they would die I tried peppered, fake jullis, schwartz, all died. I think it had to do with the stock I was getting.

I have had 3 bronze and 3 albinos for a month now and yesterday I found eggs. So I'm feeling good about my Cory keeping skills. I got it figured out. So I bought 3 pandas. Omg they are so cute best little fish ever.

They are doing well I'm thinking of getting one more to make 4. They school together ...

I finally got something other that BN's to spawn. Found 10 eggs kicked out of a cave. I thought the parents were way to young and small to spawn. I had 3 make it. The eggs were a lot bigger than BN's and not as yellow. The fry a huge compared to the BN babies. A male has another female trapped in his cave now so maybe more are on the way. Still waiting on the L129 and L270's.
