This summer thought I would try something different in the 100g water trough / pond. Placed a heater in just in case seeing as weather here isn't always that "dependable", some java moss (has went crazy!! couple handfuls has turned into 2gallon buckets worth), few floating pond plants, extra misc fake plants just floating, some sunset mickey mouse platys and various female guppys along with a couple wild colored moscows. Then as I was cleaning house tanks a few more got thrown into ...

I would love to breed guppies and last year I spent a lot of money on some great males and females. It seems that live bearers do not do well for me no matter which kind. I have also tried mollys and platys with the same results. They all die within weeks. Any guesses as to what the problem might be. I just cant keep these fish alive no matter what I try.

Well, I never thought I'd see this day but my Endler's have died out. No idea why. Over the last few months I've started noticing there hasn't been one baby that I could find. There are plently of hiding places in there. The tank has been established for about 5 years so there's plenty of microfauna and what not for them to eat. Parameters have all been stable and well within normal limits. Over the past week the adults all died. I don't get it, but my guess would be the lack of an introduction ...

Hello Every one

I have a fairly new tropical tank, with a variety of Platy, a couple of Mollies, Guppies, Tetras, a pair of Betas. My question concerns my platies. They seem to keep their dorsal fins clamped to their bodies. They stay in quiet corners of the tank, and are not very active. They eat well. I feed a variety of foods, flakes, a fresh mix my son had made for me. The veggies tablet thingies.

I'm worried that these guys are missing something. I couldn't find anything in this ...

Finally I purchaced 8 females off someone who had a tank of pure black bar. They arrived today after 6 weeks of waiting the person had never mailed before so I was her experiment. LOL, 8 females and 5 babies in the bag. They are so small I almost missed them in the plant that was in the bag. Just released into tank a few min ago after acclimating and they are doing great.
A year ago, a friend gave us a 3 gallon plastic hex tank. We bought a pair of mickey mouse platys, swordtails, and fancy guppies. They began to breed. and breed. and breed.

Well, now we've got 3 tanks set up. One is a community tank, 20 gallons. Most of their babies got eaten, so we picked up more tanks at yard sales recently. The second is the juvenile tank, 15 gallons, currently with about 50 juveniles, mostly fancy guppies and some sword tails. Third is a 10 gallon fry tank ...

Well my guppy had 12 babies, but now I can only find one of the dalmatian molly babies. They were too big to be eaten. Should I have not put the guppies in with the mollies? I was really excited to see how the dalmatian mollies were going to look like and now I only have one black one. Should I separate the fish?
