And can parasites and bacteria live out of the water and if so for how long?

I didn't take any pictures, because i couldn't believe what happened. But apparently yeast and sugar don't belong in the aquarium. Either one of my kids or my girl nephews knocked my co2 concacution over and it empty down the tubing into my tank. This happened last saturday, but anyway i noticed only 2 fish dead and 2 amano shrimp dead. I did a 50% water change, the water was a little hazy but everyone else seem fine. What i didn't do was fill the diy co2 bottle water level back up. The next ...

I have a breeding pair of Jack Dempseys. The male is easily pushing 11''.

when I got him, he was being housed in a 100 gallon stock tank that was a turtle tank. He was in there for 2-3 months.

He now has what seems to be HITH.

I have NEVER had to deal with this, so I don't really know what to do.. I was reading that it's a parasite, but then I read that it's a nutrient deficiency of Thiamine.. or something like that, and that they can get it from eating Rosey Reds.

Did a 90% WC only to find out I was out of dechlorinator. Went to start the car for the mad trip to walmart to get some, battery dead. SO... I siphoned 9 gallons out of my display tank into the QT. I'm laying 6/1 that I'm gonna have dead fish by 5pm. Also currently trying to find a way to sweet talk wife into driving

Socolofi has bruises??

So, while I was watching my tank tonight after feeding time, I noticed that our male blue socolofi has a few dark spots on him. They look like bruises as they are the same color as he is, just darker. I noticed one on him the other night on his head behind is eye, but after a little while, that spot just disappeared and it was much darker than the ones he has tonight. Do fish bruise?? or is this something worse?? None of the other fish have any . . . .

So I got home from work yesterday and noticed this film of oil or something on the top surface of the entire tank. As I fed the fish the filmy substance broke up like an oil spill on water. The tank has been up and running with all the levels of Ntr. Amna.Ph. at normal. Everything in the tank I have reused from the tank befor and never had this problem.

I was none too happy to discover that somebody's fat cat butt had shattered the glass top on my Ghost Knife fish tank. The glass was all over the bottom of the tank and the light was inside the tank (while still plugged in...). Fortunately (for the cats) the Ghost Knife was still alive... he was pinned underneath some glass, but o.k. So now I have to go buy a new hood for a 20 gal tall tank....
