I found a pile in the floor and in each water bowl for the dogs, some in the one fish tank that's running right now, and the cages for the rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, and rat. This is the effect of leaving a 3 year old under the ...

So I went and checked in on my bettas yesterday, having released the female the day before and I looked at my male's bubblenest and there was eggs! I was so excited! Finally, after nearly two weeks of keeping them in the five gallon tank and one failed attempt at releasing the female (they didn't really do anything :/ ), there are eggs. Oh my gosh, I'm so happy! However, there's been another issue unforunately. My male is apparently inexperienced and so his bubblenest is exceptionally pitiful. ...

I have been doing a lot of research in the past few weeks and I have read that it is possible to keep more than one male betta in the same tank if it is large enough. I am a little skeptical about this though because I do not want any of my fish to be injured. I have a 125 gallon tank with some tetras, groumies, and angels in it. Do you think I could put two males in it safely? Has anyone ever tried this?

What are the basics of betta breeding?

I have experience in fish breeding, but I never had bettas. I have a big strong male and I am looking for a female. I am going to pick up two more tanks and a 10 gallon tank for breeding. But I'm being serious and I've done tons of research on this. here are my questions:

Do you separate the male from the eggs when they hatch?

How long is the process of the whole thing from the beginning of mating to when the fry's hatch?

I just need a little of the basics.

The female has been released into the males tank. You should not have any bubblers or filters running at this time. Now is when I put a small silk plant in to give the female something to hide in as the male will chase her around violently.

when you see him wrapping around her you should also be able to see the eggs falling out of her. this is when they are fertilized by the male.

After he releases her she will be in a comatose state. This will pass quickly and she'll be ready ...

Some of you are interested in trying to breed Bettas so I though I would give you some tips. This picture is of a female that is ready for breeding. She should be placed in a container next to the males so they can see each other. When the female is ready to breed she will get these vertical stripes. She must have them. If she doesn't then she is not ready. Putting her in with the male if she isn't ready could be dangerous to her. He will kill her trying to breed with her. To get both ready for ...
