Breeding Facility in Tennessee

I have started an improved breeding facility because my fishroom isn't big enough. I decided since the aquarium trade is down at least 40%, why not throw a bunch of money and time into it and see what happens.

All I have done to this point is the floors, which have already been a headache. I tried to acid stain and seal, but I couldn't get the cr@p up good enough for it to look good. So I got a colored sealer the same color and went over it again.

like the title says my background is just about finished. it has gone through one full day with water and the pH seems fine. I guess the paint or something is keeping things from leaching into the water column. Im pretty excited. i think ill move it inside today and fill it up and let the water circulate via power head one more day(if i can be that patient). I was horrible about taking picture throught the process. I basically just have a list of materials and some before and after pics. so i ...

Go to Home depot and get some of the florescent lighting diffusers (about $11 per sheet) And cut to fit to the size of your tank. I used tin snips to cut it and pliers to break off the sharp pieces.

That's all you need for larger fish but I have smaller fish I need to separate so I went to the craft store and picked up some of this ($.39 per sheet)

Cut it to fit over the egg crate (light diffuser) Dab some sillicone onto the egg crate so that you can 'glue' it on like so

So far I have the 240g acrylic tank. I hit some numbers issues with building a stand that would be able to house a sump large enough for this tank. So thinking about it I have 9' x 4' x chop to ceiling height pallet racks! So the tank will go on the rack in the middle so I can stand on the rack to do my maintenance (I'm short). The sump will be on the floor under the tank and use the majority of the 9'x 4' floor space, I think I'm going 18" high. Well I thought about building it with ply ...

It needs a reseal so i called Aqueon and they are going to send me the factory silicone free of charge to reseal it

Apparently any tank over 65 Gallons and built 2007 and later has a lifetime warranty

The gentleman I spoke to on the phone was very polite and offered the silicone to seal it just out of hand even though the tank was obviously built before 2007 as it has no center brace and never has ...

I rescued a broken 38 gallon tank from a dumpster- it was a brand new kit with a heater and filter and hood with light. The only problem is that 1 or 2 panes og glass are a total loss and I would need them replaced before use. Does anyone know of anybody who does that in the Fort Worth area?

The ?Denitrate Tower? is a monstrosity of an eye soar that only the most hardcore of hobbyist are likely to attempt. Yes, it?s ugly, but the tank this is on has been running for the last couple of months with zero nitrate creep. It?s on a 100 gallon tank. Stocking is an adult Oscar, an adult male convict, and three adult silver dollars.

As a starter, here is a pic of the current ?Denitrate ...

Pics in the tank will be up as soon as I put this bastard male Leleupi on a hook and go catch some nice sized bass in my lake. He killed my prize Alto Comp and his mate within two days of each other for no reason.

This multi functional stand costs more to build than most but it holds more and you can change it around as much as you want to..

Go get this from Lowes or Home depot. It costs about $150 but it holds 1500 lbs per shelf

Set it up with tank height + work space + 1 1/2" spacing between the shelves. I set mine up for 20g longs. I built it in mind for 30gals as well, but I would have to move the shelves for those. I wouldn't go much longer than 30gal though.

Get some 1/2 inch ...
